Reflection, resources and musings aloud on supporting, enabling and empowering young people

Reflective practice in action...

I've really enjoyed reading two new blogs over the last few days.

using his blog as a tool for reflective practice and sharing.

And Hilary Mason in East Sussex has started Youth Blog from the UK sharing her experiences and reflections as an interim manager in the youth service.

Do take a few moments to read and hopefully subscribe to their blogs - and if you're still thinking about getting blogging, now is the idea time to start and to join a growing community of youth work bloggers...

I've enjoyed reading Hilarys - not fully caught up with the other one yet but what I especially like about both of them is that they reply to comments which to me is the whole point - starting a debate, sharing experiences and having a conversation albeit in bits.

Pet hate of mine at the mo is the many blogs (including on here) where the authors don't engage in the dialogue - comes across as though they may be above all that?!

So plenty of encouragement to Hilary & Dave and no doubt soon we'll see a functioning online community of youth work bloggers......

lol I realised I should probably have added a note to say that comment wasn't directed at Tim who does regularly respond to comments on his blogs ;-)

Guess I'd better respond rather belatedly to this comment in that case... just to ensure I don't undermine Mike's point.

Thanks for this ....just a little geographical note, I'm in West not East Sussex!

Looking forward to the community growing!
