International Work and Youth Clubs exchanges

    Hi all

i have recently taken over a Youth Work post for the Army Welfare Service and have been asked to organised a Summer Residential for the Youth Forum i will be working with.  The forum have enjoyed a number of tourist city breaks to Rome, London etc but i would like to introduce something new such as the opportunity to exchange with other Youth Groups / Organisations, take part in voluntary work and simply sample something quite different from the norm.

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

    Cheers

    Matt

    hi matt,

internationally work has made what i am today at a very early age i was lucky enough to go to jamiaca on a youth exchange! what an experience over 4 weeks in the sun! but while we were there we took part in a wide range of voluntary work and educational visits.

the success of the trip was down to the young people being fully involved in the planning and development of the project from fund raising to programme planning and research. the needs of the youmng people are paramount, for example if you were going to liverpool it would be quite wrong to go to anfield if know of the young people were not interested in LFC!

but seriously international work made me socially mobile at an early age and certainly open my eyes to the big wide diverse world we live in to day

    good luck!
