EYFS does not belong in out of school clubs. Exemption is possible at last - 38 pages to read and comply with- go to EYFS website, requirements http://www.standards.dfes.gov.uk/eyfs/site/requirements/index.htm under requirements, orange heading, learning and development - exemptions click and arrive at a Exemptions; The EYFS is a flexible and inclusive framework which is designed to accommodate both the needs of individual children, including children with learning difficulties and disabilities, and the many different approaches employed by early years providers. It allows flexibility for practitioners to make professional judgements about the pace at which individual children should progress and does not seek to prescribe or standardise day to day practice across settings. However, we have made provision for providers and parents to seek exemptions or modifications to the EYFS. Providers may apply for exemptions in the following circumstances: Where providers are temporarily unable to deliver the full learning and development requirements. Where a majority of parents agree with the provider that an exemption should be sought, and the exemption is required because the established principles about learning and development for young children which govern their practice conflict with elements of the EYFS learning and development requirements Parents can apply where they consider that the learning and development requirements, or some element of them, are in conflict with the their religious or philosophical convictions. The guidance in the link below will lead you through the criteria for exemption and the application process. DOWNLOAD doc

HAVE OFSTED COMPLETLY LOST THE PLOT!!!!!! Is it not bad enough that the come into my home, i am a childminder, every 2 years and tell me i am crap because i dont have a piece of paper saying that if one of my children is taken ill, i can get medical treatment for them! "Oh im sorry i let your child bleed to death, i didnt have your permission to take her to the hospital" I am a very good mother of 4 wonderful children from teenagers down to a 5 year old, who really knows kids and how the operate and i dont need some pen pusher with no kids of her own, just out of college telling me i dont know what i am doing. I run a very succsesful childcare business and have done for many years. I have babies that grow up in my care and i see them go to school as lovely, well adjusted kids because i treat them like kids and not an entry in my EYFS documentation. I have many grateful mothers who value my care and experience that cant be gained from documents and reims of paperwork that is now expected from us. Well ofsed, bring it on!!!!!!!!!!!!!
