If Sharon Shoesmith, who 'brassed it out' when it finally came to public light that this second baby had died, when he could have been helped, wants to appeal, surely that's OK.
But I believe that if the decision is that she has not done the job properly, when she has been paid out of the public purse, then the total of her wages and pension - from the time when she took up the post - should be clawed back.
The rate for the job includes a large amount for responsibility - and acountability.
