RE: Sharon Shoesmith appeals against Haringey dismissal

If Sharon Shoesmith, who 'brassed it out' when it finally came to public light that this second baby had died, when he could have been helped, wants to appeal, surely that's OK. But I believe that if the decision is that she has not done the job properly, when she has been paid out of the public purse, then the total of her wages and pension - from the time when she took up the post - should be clawed back. The rate for the job includes a large amount for responsibility - and acountability.

It's unfortunate but unsuprising that Ms Shoesmith appears to be the focus of blame in terms of leadership. What actions will be taken against the Government Minister who failed to respond to concerns raised by an employee \(aka whistle blower) as to the LA's failures in safeguarding children - these concerns raised some time before the death of Baby P?
