I believe Sarah Lindsell has missed the point when she says it's "a DofE taster". My experience over a decade working with the DofE at Gold Level is that, though an excellent programme, DofE does \(from my own experience at least) tend to exclude those who most NEED such order in their lives. Which is why I was happy to see that "The success will be in engaging not middle-class, squeaky clean kids but those that have fallen off the radar."
There is room \(and need) for BOTH, so in my view it is up to all to make it work. By pooling resources to ensure its success I believe this scheme has the potential to also ensure the long term future of the organisations who throw themselves behind it rather than snipe from the sidelines!
