Dear all!
I would like to introduce an excellent opportunity for youths in the UK aged between 10 and 18 years. I’m the UK coordinator of a poster competition which is being run by the European Commission. This year’s poster theme is Children’s right to protection.
Winners from each age category (10-14 & 15-18) are invited to the UK awards ceremony which is held in London on 20th November 2008, with all travel and activity costs covered by the European Commission. Furthermore winning posters are then judged against European entries and winners are invited to attend the European Ceremony held in Brussels which is attended by Jacques Barrot, Vice-president of the EC responsible for Justice, Freedom and Security.
There’s no limit to poster submissions per organisation so submit as many as you wish by on A2 paper by 31st October 2008! Creativity welcomed!
Last year’s teachers and youth workers found that the competition was a great way to introduce the theme of rights in citizenship lessons and bring variety to other lessons as diverse as Geography and Art! It’s also a great opportunity for older youths to add something to their CVs and higher education personal statements.
