    Youth Justice News: BME - Exclusion 'leads to black youth crime'

    MPs on the Home Affairs Select Committee have heard evidence that exclusion from schools is a significant cause of the over-representation of black young people in the criminal justice system.

    The committee was taking evidence from Gus John, the chief executive of the Gus John Partnership, and Tony Sewell, director of the Generating Genius programme, as part of its ongoing inquiry into the issue.

    Sewell said: "I want the committee to be more positive. Are we going to come up with something bland, or are we going to come up with big ideas?"
